休士頓華人業餘西畫社邀請到著名藝術家威廉遜先生為社友及僑社演講.

        研討色彩的統一以及色彩的和諧.

休士頓華人業餘西畫社有六位老師趙文正、鄭可達、魏耀德、戴梅熹、蘇韶珍以及裴彩雲老師。講解水彩、油彩、粉彩、膠彩各種材料及技術。西畫社於每週四上午十點至十二點在僑教中心105室上課. 每年春秋兩季有兩次郊遊、兩次畫展、聖誕節有聖誕燈光夜遊以及很多次的藝術電影欣賞會。歡迎對藝術有興趣的僑社人士參加。欲知有關西畫社細節請電 會長郁敏敏(281-495-8044)，公關霍蓉和(713-834-4473)或上 WWW.HCAPC.COM 網站查閱西畫社的活動。

以下是布魯斯威廉遜先生的簡介:

布魯斯威廉遜先生出生於加拿大安大略省。他的叔叔擁有一個藝術畫廊。他的母親是水彩畫家，曾祖父，桑福德弗萊明爵士，設計了第一張加拿大郵票。當布魯斯年青時，他受戒成為一名天主教神父。他走遍羅馬，在羅馬住了7年，他在歐洲的這一時期，研究藝術史的偉大人物，對他作為一個藝術家的才能影響甚深。多年來，布魯斯贏得了許多獎。他是藝術家國家協會（NSA）的會員，他在意大利（薩薩里）有一個非常成功的個展，在休士頓也有好幾個非常成功的 個人展出。

他曾去佛羅里達州和St. Croix VI主持油畫工作坊。在休士頓，他主持繪畫示範和演講會，他也在他的工作室裡教油畫。他目前在休士頓，達拉斯，薩拉多，聖克羅伊和佛羅里達州傑克遜維爾的畫廊裡都有他的作品。他還捐贈作品給好幾個慈善基金會。

Artist Mr. Bruce Williamson Oil Painting Demo

Brief  introduction of Bruce Williamson:

Born in Oakville Ontario Canada, his association with art goes back a long way. His uncle owned an art gallery where Bruce displayed and sold numerous paintings. His mother was a watercolorist and her great grandfather, Sir Sanford Fleming, designed the first Canadian stamp. After a college level art program under John Damm ARS, he went to the Art Student's League of New York to study .

As a young adult Bruce left painting to become a Catholic Priest. During that time he traveled internationally, spending seven years in Rome where he was ordained by Pope John Paul II. While there at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas, he had the great opportunity to follow the remarkable journey of and to work with Mother Teresa. It was during this period in Europe, studying the great figures of art history, that his talent as an artist was most influenced.

Bruce has won many awards over the years. In the 2008 entry of the Houston Civic Art Association (HCAA) show, he won first in Professional Portrait and Second, along with an Honorable mention, in Professional Oil. He was a finalist in the internationally acclaimed 23 Annual Artist's Magazine Competition. Salon International, sponsored by the International Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art, at the Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, selected his entry in 2006, and 2008. In 2005 he won First place in the HCAA Professional Oil Show. He won First Place in the Pasadena League Art Show (2000). A member of the National Society of Artists (NSA), he has shown twice in their National Juried Show and was awarded Best of Show in their Membership Exhibit (1999). A member also of the Oil Painters of Americas (OPA), he has shown work in their National Juried Exhibition. He completed a very successful one-man show in Italy (Sassari) and several in Houston. His paintings hang in homes in Europe, North and South America.
